How to handle .net dll event in a web page? -

i have .net dll generates event. event returns number. want dynamicaly view number on web page, updating every time value changes. how can acomplish that? should use? html, ajax, javascript?

which technology web site using ? asp .net ?

if have server code listening event, expose web service query number using javascript periodically

another way use signalr or websockets

but need know how pages build first give advices
